Council Decisions In Brief
2009 Preliminary Capital Budget -- City Council approved the 2009 Capital Budget. The 2009 capital budget totals almost $241.7 million in expenditures. Forty-three percent of the budget will go toward land development projects primarily in the Evergreen, Rosewood, and Blairmore neighbourhoods. In addition, the budget continues to address the maintenance, replacement and enhancement of the City’s existing infrastructure. Some other highlights include the south river crossing; water and wastewater treatment plant upgrades; and the remainder of land acquisition and design of the new police facility.
Proposed Parking Meter Increase -- City Council approved that parking meter rates in the Riversdale Business Improvement District (BID) be increased to $1.50 per hour effective January 1, 2009.
